Just two weeks ago, the United Nations General Assembly adopted an important normative document recognizing the essential role of the care economy in society. This milestone reflects a growing understanding that care work—whether in families, communities, or public services—is fundamental to social well-being and economic resilience.

The document is highly relevant to the mission and ongoing activities of ICSW, particularly at the regional level, where strengthening care systems and social protection remains a priority.
