Joint World Conference on Social Work, Education and Social Development

Royal Dublin Society, Ireland. 4th – 7th July, 2018

More than 2,000 practitioners, researchers and educators from around the world came together in Dublin, Ireland, in July 2018 to explore the latest developments in the fields of social work, social work education and social development. The priority theme of the SWSD 2018 was “Environmental and Community Sustainability: Human Solutions in Evolving Society”.

The attendees explored various dimensions of the priority theme directly related to the third pillar of the Global Agenda for Social Work and Social Development.

The participants also commemorated the 90th anniversary of the International Conference on Social Work that gave birth not only to International Council on Social Welfare (ICSW), but also to two other “sister organizations” active in the area of social work and social development, namely, the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW), as well as the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW).
